ANM: Ulta3

Hello.. I missed last weeks Aussie Nail Monday- the theme was rainbow, and I had planned a mani to show you. [See below, it's here a week late!!]



This week For ANM the theme is "Favourite Brand". If you read my last post I have quite an affinity/ obsession with the brand ulta3.

Loved everything ulta3 labelled Made in Aus, but had trouble getting used to the ulta3 that was Made in PRC.

Onto todays' mani- I woke my nephew to ask him to choose a colour.

I shake him awake and say, "Pick any colour, you don't have to open your eyes, just pick a colour."

"Blue", he says, rolling over.

"Wait, do you choose light blue or dark blue?", I also ask him.

"Light"...

I had to do that, or I would be drooling over my Helmer all day trying to choose one for today.

I also spotted an ulta3 I won from the company when the colour first came out- Pacific Fever..

So I went back to seek a light blue!
1 thicker coat, then 1 thinner coat to touch up any VNL, and Blue Heaven had arrived.

But it was on my right hand and I stuffed up the first few glitters I placed.

So it's not the focus for ANM today.

AUS: Thongs and a bonus N.O.T.Australia.D.

 

Hello there.. I have a few pics and youtube clips in this post, first some to nails to celebrate everything that I love about Australia.

 

 I stamped thongs. The shoes others call flip flops.

I actually live in them about 9 months of the year.

 

 

I also used tape to create a letter "A".

I had a bad break so have trimmed them down to nubbins.

 Australis: liquid gold (stamping polish)

 Ulta3: purple pumps

My sister won tiks 24 hours before Australia Day to: Big Day Out- Melbourne.

My mani for the day was inspired by Michelle Wong who said in an Aussie Nails post she was using a blue polish and adding ulta3- disco fever (a red glitter), and a white glitter.

Base polish: models own- feeling blue, ulta3- disco fever, ulta3- silver glitter (one nail)
Stamping polish: Barry M- silver foil (thumb)

no topcoats used, yes there is a bit of tip wear.

I had a moment staring into the eyes of the lead singer of the Killers; and loved singing along with everyone to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers "under the bridge".

AUS: Pineapple

Hello.. in the lead up to Australia Day (26 January), I've some manis depicting things I love about Australia.

Also I am only using polish brands that begin with A, U and S.
A for Australis, U for Ulta3 and S for Sportsgirl (it also has "nail it!" name on the bottle).

Have you been to the big pineapple? I love how we have a lot of giant fibreglass-y items that make an area famous.

Now, as well as the mani, I need to ask if you are for or against pineapple appearing on a pizza (a sweet fruit on a savoury food)? What about pineapple in a salad (a fruit in a vegetable salad)?
Love some of the responses I have heard over summer, it's fun to hear the explanations why you have it in a certain food?

My green Aussie Christmas nails

Hello.. I've got my green mani to show you, as part of the Aussie Christmas Challenge.

Have you been having fun creating, taking part in this challenge? This theme today is a simple colour, and for me it represents the start of summer as the grass is lush and having picnics in the park.
After January our front lawn gets really dry and prickly.

Onto the mani, me reminiscing to childhood Christmases past in Australia, playing outside and having fun with other kids from the neighbourhood all day during the summer holidays.

Hello.. Welcome to another addition of Aussie Nails Monday

Todays theme is "Glad wrap". This is not a nail art style that I have tried before, so my memories of tutorials from pinterest I created the following.

I did one hand in red and green- traditional christmas colours.
Base polish: essence- choose me
layered polish: China glaze- ruby pumps
ulta3 topcoat
Poshe topcoat

.. and a blurry one, I can see clearly the red here..

The other hand I used 2 of my new polishes from the ulta3 candy cane.

I squished the eyes on one nail, at the top of the photo. Looks to me like red fried eggs instead of eyes?

Hello.. Today's polish for the [30 day challenge/ untrieds] is inspired by the name of a polish colour.
My pick is from b collection by bloom- Edinburgh.

Exactly 12 months ago, I was in the UK on a Topdeck trip, and we stayed a few days in Edinburgh, Scotland.. My favourite attraction in the city was the Camera Obscura. It's right near the Edinburgh Castle :) Travel pics to follow :)
