AUS: Pineapple

Hello.. in the lead up to Australia Day (26 January), I've some manis depicting things I love about Australia.

Also I am only using polish brands that begin with A, U and S.
A for Australis, U for Ulta3 and S for Sportsgirl (it also has "nail it!" name on the bottle).

Australis: limited edition 2

Ulta3: crazy

Sportsgirl. Nail it!: love potion

Stamping plate: CH20
Stamping polish: ulta3- gold rush fever

Have you been to the big pineapple? I love how we have a lot of giant fibreglass-y items that make an area famous.
The Big Pineapple

Now, as well as the mani, I need to ask if you are for or against pineapple appearing on a pizza (a sweet fruit on a savoury food)? What about pineapple in a salad (a fruit in a vegetable salad)?
Love some of the responses I have heard over summer, it's fun to hear the explanations why you have it in a certain food?

Also I'm piggy backing on Cathy's Aussie Day Nails lead up, that features an inlinkz.
So if you are reading this and are also Australian, get on it (before the 26th).
And if you came from another blog through the inlinkz-- thanks so much for reading down to the end !!

Hello.. Today's theme for the halloween nail art challenge is jack-o-lanterns, aka pumpkins.

I suck at this halloween stuff, I cant create spooky manis..
Anyway, I don't really like to eat pumpkin myself, so I've smashed up the jack-o-lantern and created pumpkin pie for you, my friends!!

Stamping polish: Rimmel- Pop!, Rimmel- Modern art, konad- black, konad- white

What to do now the 30Day Challenge is over?

Hello.. Here is the magic post where I have a go at an awesome mani someone did during the 30 Day Challenge; as well as a tally of how many new polishes I have had to accommodate in the nail polish palace- aka silver helmer.

Polish: ulta3- purple pumps, sportsgirl (Nail it!)- phoenix
Crescent: L'oreal- mystic blue

Inspired by:
http://purple-polish.blogspot.fi/2012/09/31-day-challenge-day-18-half-moons.html
I loved this mani because of the bright polish colours and the pretty looops on the half moon. Earlier in the month when it was half moon mani day I cheated and used stamping plate image in the crescent shape.
Today I used the image from purple-polish as inspiration to complete a mani similar to hers.

In total I have used:
16 (days 1-10) +
19 (days 11-20) +
10 (days 21-30)
= 45 previously untried polish bottles :)

Join the "This is Halloween challenge" !!!!!     Today's theme (Ocober 1) is horror movie.

2- orange. [30 day challenge/ untrieds]

Hello.. I don't make it a regular thing to wear orange polish, but I have 2 I can use today for   [30 day challenge/ untrieds].

Rimmel- pop! & nail it! (sportsgirl)- Phoenix.

RI used 2 coats of pop on all but accent nail (ring finger). It got 2 coats of Phoenix on it.

On the left hand I used 1 coat of pop on all nails. This polish went on great and though it is a light colour, so you get a VNL, but there are no patches.
On top I put 1 coat of Phoenix, which gave it a different look from the polishes on their own.

This then reminded me of ulta3- crazy in my collection. So put it on 1 nail to compare (ring finger).

It's not a match. The ulta3 is more jelly like, I needed 2plus coats to get the colour the same shade.. Crazy does have the shimmer like phoenix does, but it is much smaller and more greeny instead of the goldy shimmer in the sportsgirl..

Tomorrow:  an untried Yellow ?

SSSP: group inspiration & HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!

Hello.. Welcome to another Sunday Stamping Sneak Peek (SSSP)..
The theme for this week from AIS is "a mani based on something you have learnt from the group".

My inspiration is from this image, by Natalie Niu, wanting to create my own version of it, and I also haven't used this plate before (lol, the blue plastic was still on it). I also learnt from the group that you can stamp quite well with the Sally Hansen insta-dry polishes.

Also today, 1st September, is my nephew's 11th birthday. It is important to me as I have raised him since he was 6mths old. He loves Lego and hopes that everyone he invited to his party will buy him an ipod touch :)

So lovely readers, the following is a SSSP for AIS with a glittery Birthday twist !!

Base polish: essence- 22: what do u think? + Australis: fairybread
Stamping polish: S.H. insta-dry- night flight
Image plate: BM319

** pics are taken inside on my dodgy iphone camera. If I keep this mani on I'll take more pics tomorrow in the sunshine !!
